Canada was a major participant in this struggle which was crucial in winning this war for the allies. Canadas small port in Halifax soon became one of the largest hosts of development of ships and naval base for the allies because of it's safe harbours and plentiful amount of workers.

Canada's main role in the Battle of Atlantic was to protect supply convoys from Northern America to Russia. They had to  also supply Britain with materials from the Germans by aircrafts and naval vessels. Canada sent out convoys to Britain, but Adolf Hitler was aware of this, and started to destroy the supplies. Once Hitler destroyed the convoys it was then up to Canada to supply its navy for the Battle of Atlantic.
